SPECIAL INVITATION: MINI SUMMIT ON PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, SPORTS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES IN CHELSEA

Hello Chelsea residents and Community Groups!

The Chelsea Recreation, Sports, Culture and Community Life Department invites you to book Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 13:30 to 19:00 in your agenda, to attend the first mini-summit here in Chelsea!

Come discover the importance of physical literacy and get involved in the development of the action plan related to the new Chelsea Sport, Recreation and Outdoor Policy, which will be presented to you on that day.

The event is free and will be held in the Meredith Centre’s Banquet Hall, located on the 2nd floor of 23 Cecil Road in Chelsea.

For the occasion, you will have the privilege to:

  • have a look at the first version of the Sport, Recreation and Outdoor Policy;
  • participate in various activities with other Chelsea partners and organizations;
  • influence and prioritize action planning in your municipality;
  • attend a mini-conference presented by Mr. Richard Way, CEO of Sport for Life;
  • discuss with the organizers and representatives of the Municipality during an informal 5-7;
  • have a drink, enjoy small bites in good company and celebrate the new year with residents as passionate as you!

We also invite you to take advantage of free online training offered by the Municipality of Chelsea in partnership with the Réseau Accès Participation - Sport is for life. In groups or alone, online training allows you to learn at your own pace in the comfort of your home. These courses are recognized by the Coaching Association of Canada and provide training credits (NCCP).

Here is the list of courses offered to you:

- Introduction to long-term athlete development

- Introduction to Physical Literacy

To access training, please contact Marie-Danielle Michaud at MD.Michaud@chelsea.ca to obtain an access key.

We invite you to confirm your attendance to this event with Sophie Hubert (loisirs@chelsea.ca) before Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 3:00 pm.

We thank you for your community involvement. We encourage a large turnout!

Looking forward to co-build with you and promote health for life!
