November 1st from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. is voting day

You can also vote in the advance poll on Sunday, October 25 from Noon to 8:00 p.m. at Chelsea Elementary School located at 74 Old Chelsea Road.

 

CAN YOU VOTE?

To be able to vote, you must be a qualified elector, namely be 18 years of age or older on polling day and meet the following conditions on September 1st, 2009:

Be a Canadian citizen;
Be domiciled in the municipality and have resided in Québec for at least six months;
Not be under curatorship;
Be registered on the list of electors.

IS YOUR NAME REGISTERED ON THE LIST OFELECTORS?

You can check this by consulting the notice that will be sent in early October by Paul St-Louis, Returning Officer. Remember that in order to be able to vote, your name must be correctly registered on the list of electors.

YOUR NAME IS NOT ON THE LIST? YOU HAVE FOUND AN ERROR?

You must then go to a revision office to register or to correct you rregistration. A relative, your spouse or a person who lives with you can make these applications on your behalf.

To register, you must indicate the former address of the domicile and present two identification documents. The first must indicate your name and your date of birth (e.g. birth certificate, health insurance card or passport); the second document must contain your name and your address (for example: driver’s licence, student’s card, telephone or electricity bill).

WHERE IS THE REVISION OFFICE LOCATED?

The office of the revision board is located at Town Hall, 100 Old Chelsea Road.

Days and hours of operation:

October 19th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and from 7 to 10 p.m. October 20th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

You can also vote in the advance poll on Sunday, October 25 from Noon to 8:00 p.m. at Chelsea Elementary School located at 74 Old Chelsea Road.

IMPORTANT!

To vote, you will have to identify yourself by presenting one of the following documents:

Your health insurance card;
Your driver’s licence;
Your Canadian passport;
Your certificate of Indian status;
Your Canadian Forces identification card.
