This year, the Recreation, Sports, Culture and Community Life department has prepared a Magical Christmas that you won't want to miss. Rumour has it that the Elf on the Shelf will be with us, along with special guests. For this reason, we invite you to inaugurate the holiday season by participating in the various activities organized throughout the municipality.

 


PROGRAM

Friday December 2nd

 

Let's kick off a Magical Christmas with a festive celebration!

Location: soccer field located at the corner of Chemins Town Hall and Old Chelsea

 

5 p.m. to 9 p.m.:

  • Food trucks and hot drinks, tasting of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • DJ and entertainment :
    • Elf on the Shelf and his guests
  • Outdoor games for all

    • Spikeball

    • Giant pong balls

    • Jenga game

  • Letter drop-off to Santa Claus: a mailbox will be available for children to send letters to Santa Claus all night

6 p.m. : Lighting of the tree and performance by the Chelsea Youth Choir

6 p.m. to 8 p.m. : Meeting with Santa Claus

The Hollow Glen Residents' Association invites you to breakfast with Santa! 

Please reserve your spot online by November 29, 2022.

 

Location : at the Hollow Glen Community Center located at 12 Chemin du Parc.

Time : 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Available seats : 80 participants

Price : $10 (free for children under 2)

IMPORTANT – CHRISTMAS PARADE CANCELLED

Unfortunately, the high wind warning for today's region has forced us to cancel the Christmas parade.

But Santa and his elves will still be in Chelsea to meet you and take your letters! The firefighters will even be there to give you a tour of their trucks!

Come say hello at:

  • 1:30 p.m. at the Hollow Glen Community Center (12 Chemin du Parc)
  • 3:15 p.m. at the Farm Point Fire Hall (39 Chemin de la Rivière)
  • 5:00 p.m. at the Meredith Center (23 Chemin Cecil)

 

 

 

 

 

The Christmas parade has been reinvented this year. Santa and his special guests will travel through the three main sectors of the municipality on floats to spread the Christmas cheer. Residents are invited to give them a warm welcome at certain roadside locations.

Children wishing to send a letter to Santa Claus can do so during the parade. Santa's team will collect the letters so that they are sent to the right place. Don't forget to write the address on the envelope:

Parade route

This year, the parade will only pass on the streets indicated below.

 

Hollow Glen sector

Departure: 1:30 p.m. on Chemin Hollow Glen, at the corner of Chemin de la Montagne.

  • Chemins Cadillac and du Parc
  • Community Centre of Hollow Glen

Ends : 2:20 p.m.

 

Farm Point sector

Departure : 3:15 p.m. from the old IGA at 1716, Route 105

  • Chemins du Ruisseau, St-Clément and de la Rivière
  • Community Centre of Farm Point

Ends : 4:20 p.m.

 

Centre-Village sector

Departure: 5 p.m. from the Fire station at, 7 chemin de l’Hôtel de ville

  • Chemins de l’Hôtel de ville, d’Old Chelsea, du Relais and Cecil
  • Centre Meredith

Ends : 6 p.m.

Santa and his friends will end their tour of the municipality at the Meredith Centre. They will enjoy the indoor skating rink to stretch their legs. All residents and their loved ones are invited to put on their skates and join them.

The Partage Chelsea Share organization is once again hosting a musical concert to raise funds to support the two local food banks, le Grenier des Collines and the Wakefield Food Pantry. Renowned local musical talent will perform in support of a good cause and to bring Christmas cheer to the residents of Chelsea.

 

Location : La Fab sur Mill at 8 chemin Mill

Time: 2 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.

Price: $5/child and $25/adult (ticketing fees extra)

Sunday December 4th

Take advantage of the traditional Christmas market to do your holiday shopping. More than 30 local merchants will be on hand to offer you a wide variety of products. This is the time to encourage local shopping!

A Christmas mailbox will be available for children wishing to send a letter to Santa. Don't forget to write the address on the envelope: Santa Claus, North Pole, H0H 0H0 Canada

 

Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Location: la Fab (8 Chemin Mill)

Parking : Parking is available at the indicated locations at the

  • Chelsea Freshmart located at 528 Route 105 
  • CLSC at 490 Route 105.

Come and improvise on the theme of Christmas! The workshops are offered in both official languages.
