Community Trail Committee


Important notice regarding the next CTC meeting


Due to the exceptional circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, please note that the Community Trail Committee meeting will be held via audio-visual conference through the Zoom digital platform.


Information regarding the next session will be communicated very shortly.




The Community Trail Committee’s mission is to:

  • analyze and recommend various funding options for the trail, advise municipal staff in the development of funding requests, analyze the political support required of the Council regarding the requests and make recommendations to City Council to this effect;
  • provide guidelines for the development of an administrative protocol between the Municipality and Voie Verte Chelsea and make recommendations to the Municipal Council to this effect;
  • analyze potential consultation and communication needs, in collaboration with the Communications Advisory Committee, in the development of communication strategies and consultative processes under the current communication policy or in consultation with the Communications Advisory Committee (CAC) and make recommendations to Municipal Council to this effect;
  • analyze the recommendations for the final design, proposed following the c-design day, in conjunction with the Public Works and Infrastructure Advisory Committee (PWIAC) and the Recreation, Sports, Culture and Community Life Advisory Committee (LSACC) and make recommendations to Municipal Council to this effect;
  • define the desired maintenance and operating standards for the community trail and make recommendations to the PWIAC or Municipal Council to this effect.

This committee meets at 6:30 p.m. each second thursday every two month in the basement of the Chelsea Library, located at 100 Old Chelsea Road, as required.  The committee meeting is open to the public as of 6:30 p.m.
