Fonds vert

The Municipality has recently established a Fonds vert program to provide financial leverage and municipal support for environmental, sustainable development and/or active transportation initiatives in the community.

The Fonds vert is available to citizens, local entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations and public agencies (e.g. schools, health care facilities, social services). Types of eligible projects are studies, awareness projects, structuring actions, environmental or active transportation events, as well as exceptional/significant projects.

We encourage you to read the Fonds vert Policy before starting your application.

There may be some discrepancies in the English version of the Fonds vert Policy. Please note that in such cases, the French version always takes precedence.

Each project selected will be eligible for a financial contribution as follows:

  • Projects of $5,000 or less: The amount awarded could represent up to 75% of the total value of eligible expenses.
  • Projects of $5,001 to $25,000: The amount awarded could represent up to 50% of the total value of eligible expenses.

We will be accepting project applications from May 1st to May 31st, 2021.  Projects will then be preliminarily analyzed in June and presented to Council in early July for a final project selection. All participants will receive a response regarding the acceptance or rejection of their project proposal.

Please note that your project must take place in 2021.

A second call for projects will occur in the fall of 2021 for all initiatives planned for 2022.

We invite you to send your complete application by email to environnement@chelsea.ca or by mail to the attention of the Environmental and Sustainable Development Advisor at 100 Chemin Old Chelsea, Chelsea, Qc J9B 1C1. Your application must be submitted by May 31st, 2021 at 11:59 pm. Any application received after the deadline will be automatically rejected.

  • If applicable, a resolution of support from your organization's board of directors or governing board that mandates and identifies an official to apply for the specific project and sign any commitments related to the application.
