Location : Meredith Centre terrace located at 23 Chemin Cecil
In case of rain, the event will take place inside the Meredith Centre.
A traditional element of Lower Canada, the sash remains today a Canadian emblem with its origins in Quebec. Come and learn more about its history and the techniques used in its making and even try your hand at making one on site.
Workshop schedule : 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
About the artist
A native of LaSarre in Abitibi, Jean-Maurice Côté has been weeving for almost half a century. He introduces people of all ages to this tradition and has set himself the goal of passing on his passion so that this typically Quebecois know-how does not disappear from our culture.

Come learn, practice and explore dance technique in this ''Break'' workshop. Accompanied by two seasoned dancers you will get a chance to dive into this funky, athletic style of dancing.

Limit of 15 people per workshop.

Barby Creations Art will show you different techniques to make extraordinary paintings. A simple, fun and relaxing activity where no experience is necessary.

Workshop 3: 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Barby Creations Art, a local artist, was born with an extraordinary passion and incredible creativity. Since her youth she has been passionate about the arts and has a strong desire to help people express themselves. She is passionate about life and loves to share her knowledge. For the past 5 years, she has been offering painting classes with a pot.

During this workshop:
- You will find ideas to transform your clothes in a simple way
- You will discover and try new ways to enhance and wear your clothes
- You will have access to personalized advice
- You will be able to give away the clothes you no longer wear, or exchange them for new pieces with other participants
Come discover and share your clothing treasures.
**Participants must bring their own clothes, scarves, belts, hats etc.**

About the artist
Anykrystel Coppet has dedicated herself for more than 20 years to the valorization of aesthetic potential. For her, it is a way to help people reconcile with their image and to reveal ignored treasures and sublimate them through clothing. She has developed her professional experiences in France and Canada. Among others, she has designed and produced fashion shows, given stylist advice to individuals, led fashion workshops and much more!

In case of rain the event will take place at the Farm Point Community Centre located at 331 Chemin de la Rivière.
In this interactive workshop, participants will have the chance to explore ancient Aboriginal techniques including ancient dyeing and face painting techniques and will also have the opportunity to make a T-shit for Orange Shirt Day.

About the artist
Doreen Stevens is a local Algonquin artist from Kitiganzibi, Quebec. Her spirit name Anamitagize-Odaying means “One who speaks with the heart.” She is an actress, singer-songwriter, spoken word poet, and visual artist. She has been featured in various films and performances throughout Europe, Australia, the United-States and Canada.
