Call for Applications – Transportation and Sustainable Mobility Advisory Committee

The Municipality of Chelsea invites residents who wish to get involved in their community to apply to join the Transportation and Sustainable Mobility Advisory Committee (TSMAC), where one position is currently available.

The TSMAC contributes to the improvement of transportation infrastructure, the promotion of sustainable mobility, and road user safety in Chelsea. It also focuses on infrastructure adaptation and asset management to ensure long-term durability and efficiency.

 

How the TSMAC Operates

  • Public, in-person meetings every other months at La Fab on Chemin Mill
  • Two-year term, renewable
  • Members serve on a volunteer basis

 

Desired Profile

Applicants must:

  • Be a resident of Chelsea
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be fluent in  both French and English
  • Have knowledge or expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Sustainable mobility: planning of active transportation modes, reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, sustainable parking management
    • Active transportation: development of safe cycling and pedestrian networks, promotion of walking and cycling
    • Road engineering: design and improvement of road infrastructure, traffic analysis, traffic calming measures
    • Road safety: analysis of risks and problematic areas, development of safety and awareness measures
    • Asset management: optimization of infrastructure life cycles, maintenance planning, and prioritization of municipal investments

Interested individuals are invited to submit, by email, a letter of interest along with any other relevant documents to Mr. Nour Eddine El Guemri, Director of the Public Works, Infrastructure, and Sustainable Mobility Department, at n.elguemri@chelsea.ca, with the subject line “committee application”.
The letter must outline your skills, expertise, and training.

 

Application deadline: May 27, 2026

Following the submission deadline, a selection committee will review all applications. The appointment of the new member will then be confirmed by Municipal Council.
