April 20, 2018
Gatineau Park fans, users and visitors will have seven new opportunities to help draft the next Gatineau Park Master Plan: one online and six in-person. The National Capital Commission (NCC) will host a forum and five workshops throughout the Capital Region, where all can participate in the discussions.
These public consultations represent the second phase in a four-phase project which will lead to the development of the key planning document. The reviewed master plan will outline a 50-year vision for the Park, and guide the Park's management over the next decade. The plan is scheduled to be completed in 2019.
In addition, members of the public can participate in the review of the Gatineau Park Master Plan through an online survey, available on the NCC website from Monday, April 30, 2018, at 6 pm until Monday, May 21, 2018, at midnight.
Forum
The forum will have four guest speakers, experts in various fields, who will talk about their experiences and ideas, and highlight concerns (or challenges) common to the management of natural environments such as Gatineau Park, as well as share possible solutions for the protection of these areas.
When: Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Where: NCC Urbanism Lab 40 Elgin Street Ottawa, Ontario
*The forum will also be available on YouTube for those who are not able to attend in person.
WORKSHOPS
Five public consultation workshops will be held, with the objective of confirming the elements of the preliminary vision, and articulating the goals and strategic directions that will be integrated into the master plan.
