The Ministry of Public Security recently announced its new Indemnity and Financial Assistance program regarding actual and imminent disasters.
Due to flooding and heavy rains from April 14 to 24, 2019, the Municipality of Chelsea is eligible to benefit from this program. If you are a disaster victim, you have until August 8, 2019 to submit your claim to the Ministry of Public Security Recovery Branch (Direction du rétablissement).
According to this program, the victims could be:
- Individuals, who experienced damages to their essential property or who need temporary accommodation costs;
- Agricultural businesses or enterprises
- Organizations that have provided assistance and support
