Considering the evolution of the situation in China regarding the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV), public health measures have been adapted to Quebec, although the overall risk in Canada remains low.
State of the situation
The number of people affected in China is still growing, but the number of cases outside China remains limited. In Canada, a few cases have been identified. Updated information can be found at the following address: Québec.ca/coronavirus.
Recommendations
Individuals who are asymptomatic and have visited Hubei Province in China are required to voluntarily isolate themselves upon arrival in Canada until 14 days have elapsed since leaving the area. They should also contact the public health department in the area where they reside for further recommendations.
