Outaouais MP' s announce Government Funding for 12 Municipalities in the region and their citizens

Chelsea, November 3, 2017 - Stéphanie Vallée, Gatineau Deputy, Minister of Justice and designated Minister for the Outaouais region, and Marc Carrière, Chapleau Deputy, announced today during a field visit that the victims of 12 Outaouais municipalities affected by heavy rains and high winds on October 29 and 30, 2017, are eligible for the General Assistance Program for real or imminent disasters .

  • The General Financial Assistance Program for Real and Imminent Disasters aims to support municipalities, their citizens and businesses that have been affected by a disaster, as well as organizations that have provided assistance and assistance in the event of a disaster;
  • This program is a last resort aid, particularly to repair certain damage to residences and essential municipal infrastructures that cannot be covered by insurance.
