Regulation For Pets

June 30, 2016

The Municipality wishes to inform residents that dogs must be kept on leash at all times when outside the limits of the owner's private property. In addition, they must be licensed within the Municipality of Chelsea. The cost of that license is $ 25 and is available at the Municipality.

Owners who violate these regulations are subject to a minimum fine of $ 200 and a maximum fine of $ 1,000 according to the regulation of the MRC des Collines (No . 13 -RM- 02) available on the municipal website at www.chelsea.ca.

Chelsea residents should contact the SPCA at 819-243-2004 , (or contact the Police at 819-459-9911 during the weekend) to report an animal wandering off leash in order to ensure the safety of all.
