The ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation (MAMH) recently issued a map delineating a Special Intervention Zone (ZIS). The ZIS applies to all 0-20 year flood zone and to the areas flooded during the spring floods of 2017 and 2019 as defined by the Government of Quebec.
Please note that inaccuracies have already been identified by the Municipality and that a request for a review of the ZIS will be submitted to the Ministry for corrections. Following receipt of comments, MAMH will revise the map.
If you notice that your residence is located in the ZIS and you wish to ensure that the Municipality includes it in the zones to be removed, please contact Corinne Lemay-Lafontaine at c.lemay@chelsea.ca no later than August 14 in order to meet the deadlines imposed by the MAMH.
