In solidarity with the residents of Lac-Megantic, the Municipality of Chelsea decided to place its flag at half mast for a few days. The Municipality also placed boxes at the reception of the Municipal Office and at the Meredith Centre where residents can make donation. The Municipality will then transfer these donations to the UMQ (Union des Municipalités du Québec) who will ensure that they are forwarded to the right place. Following a call for solidarity from the UMQ, Council will meet in the upcoming days to determine an amount of donation to send to Lac-Mégantic on behalf of the Municipality of Chelsea.
