The Public Works Department of the Municipality of Chelsea wishes to inform the population that a boil water advisory is now in effect for the entire water system. Indeed, sampling results obtained in the morning of Tuesday, October 18, show that E.coli bacteria were detected in the water system.
All Chelsea residents served by the municipal water system must boil their water for at least one minute before consuming it, until the advisory is lifted. Please note that during this period, you may experience cloudy water and a drop in water pressure throughout the system. As soon as the situation is restored, an email will be sent, in addition to the broadcasting of messages on the various platforms of the Municipality to warn the citizens.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this situation. For more information, please contact us at 819-827-1124 ext. 216.
Use of water
Water from the water system should not be drunk or used for juice preparation, infant formula, cooking, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth unless it has been boiled.
Adults and teenagers can shower with municipal water if they do not swallow it. For younger children, it is preferable to wash them with a washcloth since they are susceptible to swallowing water. Hand washing is also possible with municipal water.
