Speed limit change on a section of Route 105

February 26, 2021

The Municipality would like to inform all residents that a speed limit change on a 1 km section of Route 105 will come into effect soon.

The speed limit allowed between Chemin Sherrin and Chemin Pawley will be reduced from 70 km/h to 50 km/h. The change is expected to be adopted by Council at its next meeting on March 9.

By law, this change cannot take effect until 30 days after the installation of signs announcing the speed change. These will be installed along Route 105 to warn road users.

The Municipality will keep you informed when the signs are in place.

Why change the speed limit?

As part of the authorization for the Highlands property development, a technical engineering study and a traffic study were provided to the Municipality recommending that the speed limit on this section be reduced for safety reasons. With the increased flow of cars expected at the intersections of Route 105, this change is mandatory to protect users.
