Chelsea maintains door-to-door delivery of registration notices and reminder cards

In response to the ongoing strike at Canada Post, the Municipality of Chelsea announces that it will ensure the delivery of registration notices and reminder cards directly to each elector’s door. A courier service has been hired following the evaluation of several options to guarantee the transmission of electoral information. Distribution will begin this Friday and continue into early next week.

This measure is intended to ensure fairness in distribution so that all electors have the necessary information in hand before the Revision Committee sessions begin on October 14. It reflects the Municipality’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and to properly informing all residents. It will also make it possible to confirm the new electoral district to voters affected by the recent update of the electoral map. 

“The right to vote is fundamental. In the current context, it was imperative for us to find a reliable and efficient solution to reach every elector and thus ensure adequate democratic participation in the upcoming elections,” said Election Chair M^e Charles-Hervé Aka.

Voters are asked to keep the combined notice, including the registration notice and reminder card, and to present it when they go to vote, to facilitate the smooth running of the election.

Online Verification

Residents can now verify their registration on the electoral roll, find their polling station, and identify their electoral district using a newly launched online platform (in French). By entering their postal code and civic number, they can access all relevant election information, organized under different tabs.

Revision of the Electoral List: Two additional dates scheduled

To better meet residents’ needs, additional sessions have been added to the agenda of the Revision Committee. The Committee’s schedule is as follows:

• October 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Farm Point Community Centre
• October 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Town Hall
• October 16, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Town Hall
• October 17, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Hollow Glen Community Centre

During these sessions, citizens will be able to register if they are not on the electoral list, correct errors, and update their address.
