Awarding of the contract for the relocation of the former Cascades train station 

The council awarded the contract for the relocation of the old Cascades train station near the Chelsea Greenway trail on Mill Road in the amount of $33,217.43, including taxes, to CDS Building Movers 

 

Awarding of the contract for relocating the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of chemins d’Old Chelsea and Ladyfield from the working capital 

The council awarded the contract for the relocation of the pedestrian crossing on Old Chelsea Road in the amount of $21,471.58, including taxes, to Pavage Gadbois.

 

Awarding of a grant to « ACRE » from the non-allocated surplus following the purchase of lot 3 030 905 and 3 030 911 

The Chelsea community, through ACRE, has purchased lots 3,030,905 and 3,030,911. The council is granting ACRE the sum of $1,937.50 to cover the costs associated with the acquisition of these lots. 

 

Request to the Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility to reduce the speed limit on Chemin Old Chelsea

For the safety of schoolchildren and all road users, the council is asking the Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility to reduce the speed limit to 30 km/h on Old Chelsea Road in the village center within the school zone before the start of the school year. 

 

Request to the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to reduce the speed limit on Route 105 

The council asks the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to: 

  • Reassess traffic and safety on Route 105 at the entrance to the territory; 
  • Consider the request to reduce the speed limit on the remaining section of Route 105 from 70 km/h to 50 km/h; and 
  • Include Alonzo-Wright Road in the overall analysis for consistency of speed limits, as the current speed limit on this road is 60 km/h. 

 

Installation of a commemorative bench on the Voie Verte Chelsea in honour of Mr. Alex Mackenzie 

The council approves Mr. Alain Piché's request to install a commemorative bench on Voie Verte Chelsea near the Cascades Club in honour of Mr. Alex Mackenzie. A resident of Chelsea for over 30 years, he actively contributed to community life, particularly at the Cascades Club.
