Municipal Council adopts its Triennal Capital Expenses Program for the next three years

November 6, 2019

At a special session held last night, Municipal Council adopted its Triennal Capital Expenses Program for the years 2020-2021-2022. The latter includes investments of $24,764,659 divided into annual phases, of which $15,651,211 will be financed by long-term loans.

The three-year plan includes:

  • Various community trail work planned for 2020 and 2021 ($1,447,700);
  • Rehabilitation and development work on Meech Lake Road to restore the road to good condition and allow safe sharing of the road between cyclists and motorists ($6,479,574);
  • Rehabilitation work for de la Rivière Road in 2021 ($5,000,000);
  • Stabilization work on Chelsea Creek in 2020 ($4,637,000, 75% subsidized by the Ministry of Public Safety);
  • An investment of approximately $800,000 by 2022 in selected parks, playgrounds and community centres.

«With this Triennal Capital Expenses Program, Council maintains the same three priority projects as last year:  the community trail, the rehabilitation of Meech Lake Road and the rehabilitation of de la Rivière Road. These investments allow us to continue to invest in the quality of our infrastructure and are in line with our active transportation plan, which encourages the safe use of alternative means of transportation. »
