In 2014, the Municipality of Chelsea developed an Active Transportation Master Plan (ATMP) to guide planning of municipal infrastructure which would encourage residents to walk, cycle, ski, paddle and generally become more active in their travels in the community.
Since then, much has been done to achieve elements of the plan, including the addition of bicycle lanes on Chemins Notch and de la Mine, Route 105, the construction of the community trail and the development of several neighbourhood trails.
It is now time to review and renew the plan so it can help guide planning for future years.
To do so, we invite you to participate in an online public consultation through the Cocoriko platform.
The Cocoriko platform was developed in Chelsea and allows for online public consultations. In addition to giving you the chance to express yourself by voting and leaving a comment, it also transparently reveals the results of the votes.
To participate, you will need to create an account using your email address or Facebook account (depending on your preference).
Once logged in, all you have to do is vote on each of the proposals and tell us on a scale of 1 to 10 how much you believe in them and how much you care about them. As the votes come in, a list of priorities you've set will automatically and transparently appear.
If you wish to submit a proposal, you can do so by clicking on the "Create a proposal" button.
Active transportation is the use of one’s own energy to get from one place to another. It includes activities such as walking, jogging, cycling, x-country skiing, snowshoeing, paddling or using any other mode of transportation that is not motorized.
