The winter storm has entered the region, and the situation is making traffic difficult on the roads and could cause power outages.
Municipal teams are monitoring the evolution of the situation closely and remain ready to intervene at any time.
The municipal emergency measures plan provides for a series of interventions if the storm gains in strength or extends. However, it is important to be prepared for any eventuality and to follow some preventive measures.
Check Environment Canada's weather website and regional media frequently for real-time information. Keep a battery-powered or hand-cranked radio handy, as power outages often occur during storms.
The Municipality will update this news page as the situation progresses, as well as on the various platforms.
Prepare a 72-hour emergency kit for your home.
Library
The municipal library (100 Chemin d'Old Chelsea) closes at 5:00 p.m. instead of 8:00 p.m. this January 9, 2024.
Compost collection
Compost collection may be delayed. If this is the case, please leave your bin at the curb until noon on Friday, January 12. If your bin is still not picked up, please contact us at 819 829-1160 or travaux.publics@chelsea.ca .
Snow removal and parking
To facilitate snow removal operations, your cooperation is essential. Please avoid parking your vehicle on the side of the road.
If the situation requires the activation of emergency measures, citizens will be informed through the media, the municipal website, the newsletter, and our Facebook page.
