Safety Improvements on Route 105
Council approved a resolution mandating the Director General to evaluate various options to ensure the safety of vulnerable users on the entire municipal road network. The mandate includes evaluating the recommendations with the various departments and initiating discussions with the organizations concerned in this regard, such as the Service de la sécurité publique de la MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais, MOBI-O Centre de gestion des déplacements de l'Outaouais and Piétons et Vélo Québec.
Installation of an Emergency Generator project
Council passed a resolution confirming the approval of a contract for professional engineering services for the installation of an emergency generator at Town Hall and Fire Hall #1. This project was previously approved in the 2023 Triennal Capital Expenses Program (PTI).Creation of a pilot project for street food trucks in Chelsea
Centre de services scolaires des Portages-de-l’Outaouais Need for Additional Space for Chelsea
Council approved as presented the Centre de services scolaires des Portages-de-l’Outaouais (CSSPO) 2024-2034 School Infrastructure Addition Planning Project for Chelsea.
It should be noted that, at the request of the CSSPO, the Municipality has provided some proposals for sites in the center village, close to the young families. These proposals are currently being evaluated by the Centre and no decision has been made to date.
Suspension of the application of the by-law concerning docks and conditions of occupancy of the municipal right-of-way along the Gatineau River
Due to a lack of human and material resources required to process permit applications for docks, Council has suspended the application of By-law 1210-21 concerning docks and conditions of occupancy of the municipal right-of-way along the Gatineau River until April 15, 2024. Residents who own a private dock on municipal land will have to wait until that date to submit their application. The Municipality will prioritize inspections of private docks located on private property during the year 2023.
Fonds Vert Supports Another Project
Following a review of the Largemouth Bass removal and monitoring project to restore ecosystem integrity in Kingsmere Lake, Council agreed to provide financial assistance to the project under the Fonds Vert.
It should be noted that Council had selected five environmental, sustainable development and active transportation initiatives at its March 14 meeting.
