Result of the register on short-term accommodation

March 31, 2023

The register for the Tourist Accommodation Establishment By-law 1251-23 was held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 29, 2023. The number of signatures required for the by-law to proceed to a referendum vote was 313, but only 79 residents signed. Since the number was not reached, by-law number 1251-23 is deemed approved by those eligible to vote and will be sent to the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais for final approval.

See the public notice for the official results.

Counting method

In order to validate the method of counting signatures for this by-law, the municipality obtained an external legal opinion to confirm that it was in compliance with applicable laws. Section 534 of the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities (L.R.Q., c. E-2.2) specifies that " la personne habile à voter ne peut faire qu’une demande de scrutin référendaire" and thus each signature in the register must be counted only once.
