Municipality of Chelsea appoints a new Director General and Secretary-Treasurer

February 25, 2019

The Municipality of Chelsea is pleased to announce the official hiring of Mr. John David McFaul as the new Director General and Secretary-Treasurer. The municipal council approved unanimously Mr. McFaul's appointment at a special meeting of the council held on February 19. Mr. McFaul will begin his duties on March 4.

With several years' experience as a lawyer and clerk in the municipal sector, Mr. McFaul joins the administrative team with extensive management and legal experience, which will certainly be a major asset for the Municipality of Chelsea.

"On behalf of Council and employees, I would like to welcome Mr. McFaul to our team. We are delighted to welcome a person with such a background. I would also like to point out that Mr. McFaul has the full confidence of the Council to meet the challenges ahead. We are already looking forward to starting our work on behalf of all Chelsea residents and business owners," commented Ms. Green, Mayor of Chelsea.

Council and the Municipality also take this opportunity to thank Ms. Céline Gauthier, who has been Acting Director General since September. Ms. Gauthier has also accepted the position of Executive Director and Assistant Secretary-Treasurer and will, therefore, work closely with Mr. McFaul to ensure the transfer of ongoing files.
