Community Life and Cemeteries Advisory Committee

 

Call for Applications

 

The Municipality of Chelsea invites residents who wish to become actively involved in their community to apply to join the Community Life and Cemeteries Advisory Committee (CLCAC) where several positions are available.

 

Desired Profile

Applicants must:

Be 18 years of age or older;
Reside in Chelsea and represent the sector in which they live;
Be bilingual;
Demonstrate a strong interest in the Municipality and the quality of life it offers*;
Have knowledge or expertise related to recreation, sports, culture, community life, and cemeteries;
Be available to attend committee meetings on a regular basis.

 

* A candidate’s interest in the development and future of the Municipality may be demonstrated, for example, through participation in public consultation mechanisms put in place by the Municipality, such as during the development or revision of master plans and municipal policies (Policy for the Recognition and Support of Community Organizations, Family and Seniors Policy, Cultural Policy, etc.).

Selected members will officially begin their term at the September 2026 meeting.

Mandate

This committee is responsible for studying issues related to the activities, events, and projects of the Recreation, Sports, Culture, and Community Life Department. The committee makes recommendations to the municipal council on issues and matters referred to it by the council. Committee members must be residents of the municipality and represent one of the following groups: seniors, families, parents of teenagers, the community sector, the recreation sector, the cultural sector, or the socio-economic sector.

The committee receives questions about the department's events and projects. It makes recommendations to the council on matters and issues referred to it.
