Property tax sale

When an owner defaults on property tax payments, the municipality must sell the property in question under clause 1022 of the Municipal Code of Quebec.

A property tax payment default occurs when the owner has not paid school and municipal taxes, property-related charges, and assessed transfer charges for two or more years from the current year.
