Property tax sale

When an owner defaults on paying property taxes, the municipality has the responsibility of selling off the concerned property in accordance with clause 1022 of the Municipal Code of Quebec.

There is a property tax payment default when the owner has not paid school and municipal taxes, charges related to property taxes and assessed transfer charges for two or more years from the current year.
