The Farm Point area was chosen as the first community access point to the river because of the infrastructure and parking already in place at the Community Centre and Farm Point Park. In addition, this location will allow users of the Voie Verte Chelsea to enjoy the river without disturbing the neighbourhood.
Public consultation
In September 2022, the Municipality of Chelsea held a public consultation on the development concept for river access in the Farm Point sector. The public consultation was divided into four main themes:
- Location and development
- Access and safety
- Operation and equipment
- Attractiveness
Next step
The Municipality is currently analyzing the options available to ensure that this access is user-friendly, safe and meets the needs of the residents. At this time, no decision has been made on the final design.
