Private dock located on a private land : Zoning By-law

Private dock located on a public land: By-law respecting docks and conditions of occupancy of municipal land bordering the Gatineau river

Only one garage sale is permitted each year per property for a maximum of two days.

No permit is required.

By-law concerning pesticides (621-04) (French only)

Temporary carports and plastic garages are permitted between October 15 and April 15. No permit is required.

Within the Municipality of Chelsea, it is prohibited to cut trees with a trunk’s diameter greater than 10 cm measured at 30 cm from ground level, except in certain circumstances.

Summary

From May 1st to October 15: 

  • The mechanical and automatic watering schedule for a lawn is:
    • Tuesday for occupants of dwellings with addresses ending in 0, 1 or 2
    • Wednesday for occupants of dwellings with addresses ending in 3, 4 or 5
    • Thursday for occupants of dwellings with addresses ending in 6 or 7
    • Friday for occupants of dwellings with addresses ending in 8 or 9

 

  • The mechanical and automatic watering schedule for a garden, shrub or tree is as follows:
    • Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 3 and 6 a.m. for buildings whose addresses end with an even number, excluding rainy days.
    • Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday between 3 and 6 a.m. for buildings whose addresses end with an odd number, excluding rainy days.

 

Additionally, the certificate of authorization for watering a new lawn or turf permits residents who have requested it to water for a maximum of 2 hours per day for a period of 15 days only.

It is prohibited to use watering equipment in a manner that allows water to flow into the street or onto neighbouring properties.
