The Municipality of Chelsea is committed to reducing its ecological footprint by creating an environmentally friendly community through ongoing initiatives such as successful door-to-door recycling program, established over 10 years ago, and organizing the safe collection of hazardous domestic waste. As our Municipality is always striving to improve, our focus in the last few years has been on promoting good composting habits within our community. For instance, Chelsea has held composting workshops and organized the distribution of home composters to hundreds of residents. The Municipality is now studying the possibility of offering a door-to-door collection of compostable material in certain areas of Chelsea to further reduce our impact on the environment.
