The cyanobacteria notice at Mountain (Beamish) Lake has now been lifted

September 18, 2020

The cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) advisory issued on August 27th at Montagne Lake (Beamish) is now lifted.

Although cyanobacteria are often observed during hot weather events, other factors can also contribute to their proliferation. It is therefore not impossible that they reappear during the fall. To prevent their recurrence, we invite you to follow the advice of the Ministère de l’Environnement (MELCC).

We remind you that cyanobacteria can pose a risk to your health when blooms are visible and you are in contact with them. To help you recognize them, consult the Guide d'identification des fleurs d'eau et cyanobactéries du Ministère de l'Environnement (MELCC). If you notice any, please contact Urgence-Environnement at 1 866 694 5454 or contact us at 819-827-6227 or by email at environnement@chelsea.ca.
