The speed limit change on a section of Route 105 between Chemin Sherrin and Chemin Pawley was adopted at the March 9th ordinary Council meeting. The speed limit will be reduced from 70 km/h to 50 km/h.
Installation of signs to warn road users of the coming change will take place throughout the day of March 24. By law, this change cannot take effect until 30 days after the installation of these signs.
Why change the speed limit?
A technical engineering study and a traffic study were provided to the Municipality as part of the authorization for the Highlands property development. It was recommended that the speed limit on this section of Route 105 be reduced for safety reasons, due to the increased flow of cars expected at these intersections. This change is mandatory to protect users.
