January 12, 2024 - Lifting of precautionary boil water advisory for the entire municipal water system

January 12, 2024

January 12, 2024, 3:45 p.m.

The preventive boil water advisory for all residents served by the municipal water aqueduct system is now lifted. You may now use water from the network as usual.

Identified issues

Residents connected to the water supply system will have noticed that, over the past year, the frequency of problems requiring preventive and boil-water advisories has been exceptionally high. The Municipality has been monitoring the situation closely and conducting several analyses and tests to identify the issues.

Today, the Public Works and Infrastructures Department can identify the leading causes of the last boil warning and water discoloration.

1. Precautionary boil water advisory

Tests showed variations in chlorine levels in the network. All levels were compliant, but the Municipality carried out work to identify the cause and correct the situation. The test results comply, and the boil water advisory has been lifted.

2. Tinted water

The filters at the plant are used to ensure that the water is clear when it leaves the plant. Following rinses carried out throughout the network last weekend, the water is still colored. Our team is working hard to find the cause and resolve the colored water problem as quickly as possible.

Please note that the coloring of the water does not affect its conformity. Our teams plan to change the filters at the plant over the next week to improve the water's appearance.

We want to thank you for your cooperation and patience. Rest assured that our teams are working day and night to minimize the impact on your daily life.
