Discover what to do with these large items.

What is a bulky item?

Bulky items are large objects that cannot be disposed of in the trash bin due to their size or weight.

Curbside collection

Residents can take advantage of the collection service to dispose of certain bulky items; this service is provided alongside regular collection, but in separate trucks. To do so, place these items at the curb on the usual collection day, making sure to leave a space of one meter between them and the bins.

Next collection: September 30 to October 3, 2025

Drop-off schedule: Items must be placed at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the morning of collection, and no earlier than 7 p.m. the night before.

Maximum quantity: Place a maximum of six items per collection in an orderly manner.

Dimensions and weight: Each item must weigh less than 50 kg and not exceed three meters on its longest side.

Eligible items: Make sure that the items you place out are accepted.

Please note that only items identified in the list below will be picked up.

Wood: wooden furniture (cupboards, tables, chairs), doors and shutters.

Plastic: bulky toys (slides, small pools, children's cabins), plastic garden chairs and tables, broken storage bins, as well as non-reusable collection bins. These must be clearly identified; otherwise, they may not be collected.

Glass: windows and mirrors, aquariums, tables with glass tops (if possible, break the glass and put it in a bag).

Fabrics and foam: mattresses and box springs, upholstered sofas and armchairs, carpets and rugs.

Ceramics and concrete: washbasins and bathtubs, broken tiles, terracotta flowerpots.

How else can you dispose of them?

You can bring your bulky items to the transfer station in the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais.

Are your items reusable?

Suppose the items you plan to throw away are still in good condition and could be helpful to someone else. In that case, we encourage you to drop them off at a recycling center to give them a second life.
