Call to local artists

October 6, 2020

The Municipality of Chelsea is inviting professional artists from the Outaouais region to participate in the "de Collines et d'eau" competition for the acquisition of a permanent sculpture to be located on the site of the Hollow Glen Community Centre.

Deadline to submit a concept: January 20, 2021, midnight.

The "de Collines et d'eau" route is a public art circuit piloted by the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais that highlights the historical, cultural, and natural heritage of the municipalities of the MRC. Phase 1 of the project ended in 2017, during which eight sculptures were installed in the seven municipalities of the territory. Phase 2 of the project consists of installing a second work of public art in each municipality to enhance the "de Collines et d'eau" route.

This second project adds to the cultural life, heritage and history that constitute factors of identity and collective enrichment within the Municipality of Chelsea, in addition to fostering a sense of belonging and developing people's pride in their community. Chelsea's cultural dynamic is enriched by initiatives of consultation, exchange, collaboration and partnership with stakeholders and neighbouring communities.

This project is made possible thanks to the participation of the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais.
