Chelsea to invest $1 per household in the Municipal Biodiversity Fund!

The Municipality is pleased to announce that it has joined Fonds des municipalités pour la biodiversité (Fonds MB), an initiative of Société pour la nature et les parcs du Québec and Fondation de la faune du Québec.

By joining Fonds MB, Chelsea commits to contributing the equivalent of $1 per household or tax unit to the fund each year for land conservation or species protection purposes.

Until 2022 this amount will be matched, at $1 for each dollar invested, by Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques. To use the money, the Municipality must submit an eligible project to Fondation de la faune du Québec.

The objectives of Fonds MB are to combat climate change by protecting, enhancing, developing and restoring wildlife habitats and natural areas.
