COVID-19 : Closing of municipal buildings and modification to the services offered

Following the Québec government’s announcement that the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais has now passed to Level 4-maximum alert (red zone), the Municipality of Chelsea wishes to inform its residents that all of its municipal buildings are closed to the public until further notice and that the services offered are modified.

 

Library

The municipal library is closed.  However, it is possible to borrow documents by using the contactless loan service.  Please refer to the Contactless book loan document page for details. 

 

The Reading club activities are cancelled.

 

Requests for permits

Requests for permits must be forwarded by email only to permis@chelsea.ca.

Please consult the Permits and certificates webpage  for the procedure in this regard.

 

Meeting with a municipal employee

At the present time, it is not possible to meet with a municipal employee in person.  If you have an appointment scheduled, you will be contacted by phone at the scheduled time.

 

Community centres

All community centres are closed.  Organized and supervised activities are also cancelled.  The person in charge will contact those concerned regarding the terms and conditions for credits or reimbursements for community halls.

 

Council meetings and municipal committee meetings

Council meetings and municipal committee meetings will continue to be held virtually.  There will be no public meetings, nor any meetings with groups of people or citizens with municipal authorities.

 

Inspections

Outdoor inspections will continue.

Indoor inspections will be carried out only after having received the owner’s approval.  If the owner refuses, the inspection will be postponed to a later date, without penalty.

 

Exterior parks and playgrounds

Exterior parks and playgrounds will remain opened.  However, gatherings are forbidden.

 

Activities

All activities are cancelled, including La Grande marche Pierre Lavoie and the children’s craft activity planned for October 31.

 

H2O program and radon tests

The H2O program as well as radon tests are cancelled.

Requests already received will be treated as usual.  Results will be sent by email.

 

Tax payment

The payment of your taxes can be made online through your financial institution or by sending a cheque to the Municipality. To know the procedure, visit the Taxes page
