The Municipality has noticed, in the last few days, an excessive consumption of drinking water in the center-village. This is currently causing intermittent water pressure problems as well as diminishing the reserves on the aqueduct network.
For this reason, a complete ban on all activities requiring high water consumption is in effect from now until Friday. This includes mechanical and manual watering of gardens, lawns, trees and shrubs, washing a vehicle or building and filling a pool. Only those holding a certificate of authorization for watering will be exempted. This certificate must however be posted so that it is visible from the public road. The Municipality will reassess the situation on Friday and a new communication will be sent to you.
At the June 1st Council meeting, Municipal Council adopted the revised drinking water use by-law. We invite you to take note of the measures to be respected.
Summary of the by-law in effect between May 1st and October 15th:
In addition, the certificate of authorization for watering a new lawn or turf allows residents who have requested it to water for a maximum of 2 hours per day for a period of 15 days only.
Collective compliance with these regulations will ensure a stable and consistent supply for the entire population. Sound management of drinking water is essential at all times, but even more so in times of drought or extreme heat.
