Remarkable Trees Mission

April 22, 2021

This year, as part of Earth Day, the Municipality is launching the Remarkable Trees Mission! This project has been created in order to better understand the natural heritage of Chelsea's territory.

From April 22 to June 30, 2021, we invite interested citizens to put on their scientist's hat and search for the remarkable trees that are hidden in the municipality. These will then be mapped and shared with the public. This citizen mission is being carried out as part of the development of a Tree Policy that will aim to raise awareness about the benefits of trees and the role they play.

Please note that this is a voluntary project and the tree inventory and mapping will be done with the approval of the concerned owners, if applicable.

How to participate?

Visit our Web page and refer to the list of natural and social criteria for a remarkable tree. To help you, consult the web resources on the subject that are at your disposal. If you identify a tree that meets the selection criteria, send us an email at environnement@chelsea.ca. Be sure to include the requested information (photos, location, tree species, etc.)
