The Municipality, through its Fonds Vert program, offers an incentive for the purchase of sustainable personal hygiene products.
The project ends on December 31, 2024, or until the budget is exhausted.
Benefits and eligible products
The use of sustainable personal hygiene products offers several benefits, including a significant reduction of waste sent to landfill sites, and cost savings.
Under this program, participants receive a 50% reimbursement of the bill before taxes, up to a maximum of $200.
Here are the durable hygiene products that can be reimbursed by the program:
- Menstrual cups
- Washable sanitary pads
- Washable menstrual underwear
- Reusable tampon applicator
- Washable inserts
- Cloth diapers
- Washable training underwear for children
- Washable incontinence underwears
To be eligible for the program:
- The applicant must be a Chelsea resident;
- The sustainable hygiene product(s) must have been purchased between January 1st, 2023, and December 31st, 2024, with proof of purchase.
Grants are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis until available funds are exhausted.
