2024 Fonds Vert projects
The municipal Council presents six projects selected for 2024 that will receive funding from the Fonds Vert. The projects aim to support environmental, sustainable development, and active transportation initiatives. The selected projects are:
Awarding of the contract for analysis of the treatment chain at the water filtration plant
The Council awards the contract for the preparation of a report on the status and operation of the drinking water filtration plant's treatment chain. The aim is to carry out a complete analysis of the current state of the treatment process and its operating instructions.
Request for financial assistance from the Programme d'infrastructures municipales d'eau for the upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant
As part of the project to upgrade the wastewater treatment plant in the centre village, Council authorizes the firm Tetra Tech QI inc. to apply for financial assistance on behalf of the Municipality to the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation for the Programme d'infrastructures municipales d'eau.
The program is designed to support municipalities in upgrading their drinking water and wastewater infrastructures.
Awarding of road marking and crack sealing contracts
Council awards contracts for road marking, lining and crack sealing work for the year 2024. The work will take place over the next few months and will be posted on the Road Works Web page of the municipal website.
Purchase of bicycle racks for the centre village
In line with the strategic plan, the Council awards the contract for the purchase of two bicycle racks to be installed in the center village by the summer 2024 season.
The amount had been approved and earmarked for this purpose in the 2024-2026 three-year capital plan.
Request to hold a temporary public market
The “Marché Old Chelsea Market” organization has requested to hold a temporary public market at 23 Chemin Cecil from June to October 2024. The Council has granted authorization for the event, subject to the previously established conditions. Additionally, the Council has recommended the creation of a dedicated initiative to promote the entrepreneurial spirit of young people in the community.
Appointments and thanks to the Environment Committee
The Environment, Sustainability, and Climate Change Advisory Committee expresses its gratitude to one of its members for his contribution and announces the appointment of three new members to strengthen its expertise and commitment in these important fields.
Installation of two stop signs on Chemin Ladyfield
The Council has authorized the installation of two stop signs on Chemin Ladyfield at the intersection with Chemin St. George. It is important to note that the project proponent will cover the costs associated with this installation project. Signage will be installed 30 days before the new stops come into effect, and communications will be made on various municipal platforms to warn road users of the change.
