Last fall, for the third time since its creation, the Fonds vert launched a call for projects to receive environmental, sustainable development and/or active transportation projects.
Five community and municipal projects were selected. These projects will receive financial assistance to help them carry out their project.
Selected community projects:
- Hendrick Foundation Monarch Way Station: project to create a garden for the reproduction and migration of monarch butterflies (Monarch Way Station) as well as a development for the public aimed at raising awareness, particularly through informative panels.
- Green and active mobility at the CPE: installation of a bicycle rack to promote active transportation among the families and educators of the CPE Montessori.
- Increasing active transportation to all summer programming at Cascades Club: promotion of active transportation by raising awareness among the youth in the summer program through the creation of bike-related activities and events.
- Feasibility Study: Increasing capacity for forest and nature school programming in Chelsea Quebec: a feasibility study to determine the potential for creating a forest school for 2-4 year olds and an additional program for 4-12 year olds in Chelsea.
Selected municipal project:
- Rain barrel incentive: a pilot project to provide financial incentive to Chelsea citizens for the purchase of rain barrels to promote the conservation of the drinking water resource.
About the Fonds vert
Launched in 2021, the Fonds vert aims to support environmental, sustainable development and active transportation initiatives by providing financial leverage and municipal support.
The next call for projects will take place from September 1st to October 31st for initiatives planned in 2024.
