A new school in Chelsea for 2026

Discussions are underway to acquire the land within the given timeframe to begin construction of the new elementary schools this fall. This addition will significantly benefit the community by enabling nearly 300 Chelsea children to attend a new school, encouraging active transportation.

Moratorium on new construction to preserve the current capacity of the drinking water network

The Municipality of Chelsea has imposed a two-year moratorium on all new constructions in the urban perimeter of the Centre-Village limits due to water and sewer system limitations. Certain public buildings and well advanced projects are exempt.
