What is e-waste?

 

E-waste includes outdated or broken electronic equipment, such as:

  • Cameras
  • Cellphones, cordless phones, and land lines
  • Computers
  • Computer monitors
  • Other electronic and computer accessories
  • Printers, scanners, and fax machines
  • Televisions

How to dispose of e-waste

 

You can now dispose of small electronic waste at Town Hall (100 Chemin d'Old Chelsea). These can be placed in the Electrobac at reception.

What's accepted:

  • Chargers and cables;
  • Peripherals;
  • Small electronics;
  • Ink cartridges.

What is refused:

  • Batteries;
  • Light bulbs;
  • CDs, DVDs and VHS;
  • Large electronics.

Larger electronic waste such as televisions, computers, etc. can be brought to the Ecocentre du Boulevard de la Carrière (860 Boulevard de la Carrière, Gatineau).
